(SLJ) Underwater Robot

For this task I had to create my own underwater robot with different things that it can do and it was very fun and easy to do.

If you could make your own underwater robot what type of things would it have?

Jamie here again from St Patrick’s. Your underwater robot must be very helpful to anyone, especially for protecting AND taking care of our aquatic life. How else would we take care of our aquatic life, and daily?

If I could make my own underwater robot, I would make it very lightweight, not bulky; so the fishes’ habitat wouldn’t be disturbed. I would also program it to pick up rubbish or any objects that don’t belong in the ocean to keep our waters clean and crystal clear! Please reply if you can, and have a great day, and a Merry Merry Christmas🌟🎄!!

    1. Hello Jamie,
Thank you for checking out my blog and I like how you described what type of robot you would want and what it would have, it’s sound really cool and thanks again for leaving a comment on my blog.

      Merry Christmas🎄,
      Joanna

  2. Kia Ora Joanna,
I am Whaea Tanya one of the Manaiakalani Facilitators you might see commenting on the SLJ Blogs, I am finding it fun to see the different ways the tasks are completed.

Thank you for sharing your robot and the description of how it works. I am glad to see it has a method to move especially underwater, as the tides could drag it along. The propellers look like they could also help cut him out if the robot gets stuck in the seaweed.
I was wondering how the robot recognises treasure or rubbish that it picks up?
Keep blogging over the Summer and Good luck.

    1. Hi Tanya,
Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog and how the robot recognises what it is that it has is that it basically uses its eyes to scan what is has whether it’s trash or treasure.

Thank you & Merry Christmas 🎄,
      Joanna

I like your robot design, it looks like a friendly robot. I especially like the propelly hands, that makes a lot of sense. The lights are also a good idea, the ocean does get very dark so that will help your robot find rubbish in the dark.

If I could make a robot it would look like an Orca Whale for a number of reasons. Reason 1) It will look like it belongs so sea creatures won’t be surprised to see it. Reason 2) Because Orca’s are apex predators which mean they aren’t hunted by other creatures in the sea so my robot will be safe. Reason 3) I love Orca’s. My Orca will suck up rubbish all around it and turn the rubbish into things the environment needs, oxygen, sea moss, seaweed and those sorts of things. It will have cameras on the front, back and the sides of it so the Orca can see in each direction.

Was there anything you found difficult? Did you learn any fun facts about sea creatures? I’ve learnt a few different things just by reading other children’s blogs.
    Facts:
Starfish don’t have brains or blood.
Seahorses mate for life (like penguins) and the male seahorse carries the baby.
71% of the earth’s surface is covered by water.
90 something % of our drinking water is provided by the ocean.

Do you know any fun facts about the ocean or sea creatures?

    1. Hi Anna,

Thank you for commenting on my blog and also I really like your idea of your underwater robot and also I don’t think I found anything difficult about making my underwater robot and I like the facts about the ocean that you have wrote down and yes I know a few facts about the ocean you could read it on my under the sea blog post.

      Thank you,
      Joanna
