(SLJ) Which One Doesn’t Belong? (Kick Start)

For this SLJ task I had to think of what is different from each shape and I had to write a description of what is so different about each shape for example it could have no colour or it could have more sides and corners than all the other shapes or maybe the shape is round or pointy and at the end I made my own.

  1. Malo e lelei Joanna,

This is such a fun maths activity, I love geometry so working with shapes and nets is my favourite kind of maths! I think you did an incredible job on this activity, your description explained the task beautifully, encouraged your reader to have a go at the task, the only thing missing is a meaningful and engaging question!

I think you have some awesome reasons for why each shape does not belong, especially your use of a lot of math vocabulary looking at color, shape, and edges. I think it is awesome to see your creativity with how you completed this task!

I would like to know if you enjoyed this challenge? If so, what did you find to be the best part?

It is great to see you participating in the summer learning journey again this year and I look forward to seeing more of your awesome posts, keep up the great work!

    1. Hi Zana,

Thank you for checking out my blog and to answer your questions I did enjoy this challenge a lot and it was very fun and I found that the best part of the task was that in some shapes I needed to think really hard about what was different about that shape and so I used my thinking skills and there were many ways a shape can be different from each other for example: The colour, sides, corners and many more.

      Thank you,
      Joanna
